New Year, New Tax Changes

Date

What's Changing?

As of January 1st, 2023, “ALL Cannabis retailers (Dispensary and Delivery) are now responsible for collecting the cannabis excise tax from purchasers at the time of the retail sale of cannabis or cannabis products. The cannabis excise tax must be listed separately on the receipt or invoice provided to the purchaser. The cannabis excise tax is included in gross receipts subject to sales tax. ”

Starting January 1st 2023, upon checkout, you will see a 15% tax on your receipt that is calculated into your grand total.

Previously, the excise tax was calculated into our menu prices, meaning you’d only pay sales tax as a tax upon checkout just like any other online transaction.

But Don't Worry!

We’re taking New Year’s Day to close up shop and shift our prices down to account for the 15%. That means you’ll see lower prices on almost every item on the menu (items with no cannabis are excluded – ie. accessories).
If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to our team via call or email. Other resources regarding this change can be found here.
While this change is out of our control, we want to assure you our focus on delivering the highest quality Cannabis at the best possible price will remain. As the New Year is upon us, we want to thank you again for your continued support over these past years. We love our home in Marin and will continue to provide the nicest service possible.
